Pictorial Record of Great Western Engines: Gooch, Armstrong & Dean Locomotives comprises a collection of photographs, line drawings and sketches intending to portray the evolution of the engines of the GWR. The work is arranged chronologically, with scale diagrams accompanying the photographs, including a detailed commentary on the locomotive classes.
This volume contains over 500 black and white photographs and includes Broad Gauge engines plus notable classes, such as the Dean and Armstrong Goods, the Dean Singles, the ‘Barnum’ class and the ‘Duke’ class 4-4-0s.
The price-clipped dust wrapper is in vg condition, clean and bright, with a 2.5 cm closed tear to the top of the spine to the rear and minor bumping to the extemities. The binding is tight. Inside, the content is clean and in near fine condition.
