This scarce publication gives a fascinating account of the sinking of the British cruiser HMS Pegasus in Zanzibar harbour by the German cruiser SMS Konigsberg during WW1.The author looks at the the design and history of each ship, and goes on to describe the hunt for and revenge destruction of the German cruiser. Both sides salvaged equipment from their sunken vessels. The book describes the overhaul of armaments from the Pegasus, which were fitted with carriages and wheels and used in in coastal defence. The book is illustrated with black and white photographs, with specifications and lists of casualties to the rear.
