The first battle came to be regarded as the worst Australian defeat of the War. British and Australian forces launched repeated offensives in an effort to capture Bullecourt.

Approximately 17,000 soldiers were sacrificed- 4,124 of them were listed as missing and have no know grave. Part 4 of the book includes details of the cemeteries where the Bullecourt fallen rest.

Appendices 1 and 2 cover Orders of Battle: appendix 3 list British diggers who died there; appendices 4-8 list soldiers who have no known grave but who are commemorated on memorials. The book is illustrated with b/w photographs and maps.

Thre dust wrapper is in vg condition, clean and bright, with slight rubbing to the edges. The binding is tight. there is rubbing to the boards to the bottom edges and a small minor scuff to the front. Inside, the content is clean and in fine condition.
